Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is out to prove his phenomenal regular season is no fluke tonight against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the last of today’s three NFL Sunday wild card games.
Like the Broncos’ Bo Nix, he’s another rookie being thrown into the playoff cauldron.
Daniels has shown unusual poise for a first-year player, driving the Commanders to victory in last-minute wins over the course of their five-game winning streak to close out the season.
What to Watch Out For
The Commanders had one of the easiest, if not the easiest, schedules in 2024.
They’re 8-2 in close games, but tonight’s game may be one determined by the offenses.
And as decisive as Daniels has been this year, last year’s second overall pick faces the first overall pick of 2018, Baker Mayfield, who is eager to extend his career-year performance into the playoffs.
Watch out for the matchup between Tampa wide receiver Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore — there’s history between the two.
Expect a high-scoring, offense-driven game.
