The Philadelphia Eagles enter Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers with a lot of positive energy. Their star quarterback Jalen Hurts returned to action after nearly three weeks in the NFL’s concussion protocol.
But the big questions for the Eagles will be whether Hurts will be in top form — and whether his return will be enough to overcome the Packers. It probably will be.
Hurts, Love, and (Elbow) Pain
The dual-threat Hurts may be reluctant to run the ball this afternoon, just coming out of the concussion protocol.
That may put more weight on the shoulders of running back Saquon Barkley, coming off a historic regular season. But Barkley seems like a man on a mission. He may feed off of the great expectations and heavier workload.
But the Packers’ stellar run defense may have an answer for Saquon.
But the Eagles’ defense — which led the league in total yards allowed — is certain to do their part too and contain the Packers’ Jordan Love, who will also be contending with lingering elbow issues. Love did not project confidence during the week when asked about his elbow.
The combination of ailing quarterbacks and top defenses could make this a low-scoring affair.
