Super Bowl LIX may be the hottest ticket in town, but it isn’t quite as hot as it was just a week ago.
Tickets for next Sunday’s big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are selling for 20–25% cheaper in the resale market compared to just a week ago. And that’s despite the limited inventory available to the general public.
How Super Bowl Tickets Are Sold — and Distributed
Most Super Bowl tickets are sold by NFL teams to their season ticket holders. Each of the NFL’s 32 teams is allotted Super Bowl tickets, with the two Super Bowl teams getting the largest chunk.
NFL teams make their Super Bowl tickets available to select season ticket holders through a lottery and other types of distribution systems.
The NFL also distributes a large number of tickets to corporate sponsors, media and broadcast partners, as well as Hall of Famers and other individuals with special relationships with the league.
Super Bowl 2025 Ticket Prices
The NFL does sell Super Bowl packages in partnership with On Location that include game tickets and special amenities — starting at $6,950. Few, if any, individual Super Bowl tickets are sold by the league directly to the general public.
Some ticket holders, however, make their seats available in the resale market on platforms like StubHub.
And prices for those tickets have fallen, with the cheapest Super Bowl ticket now just under $3,200 — before fees. That’s certainly not a price everyone can afford, but it’s definitely cheaper than the minimum price of entry last week, which was well over $4,500.
So why are Super Bowl ticket prices falling? It may be due to fans’ fatigue over seeing the Kansas City Chiefs play in yet another championship game. The Chiefs are looking for their third straight Super Bowl ring.
Perceptions of biased officiating may also be a factor. The NFL has faced criticism from many who see the officiating as heavily slanted in the Chiefs’ favor. Some may see this game as scripted — like a WWE match.
But the game remains a huge draw with Eagles fans — and Chiefs haters — hoping Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley can lead Philadelphia to a victory over Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Kansas City.
How to Watch at Home
Now, the cheapest way to watch Super Bowl LIX is by staying at home and viewing it from a screen. The game will be broadcast on Fox. That means you can watch it for free with an antenna or a basic cable TV package.
This year, Fox will also broadcast the game for free on the streaming app Tubi — and in 4K ultra-high definition. So cord-cutters out there won’t need to subscribe to any additional services to watch the game.
If, for some reason, Tubi isn’t your thing, the game can also be streamed on the Fox Sports app and website, as well as streaming services Hulu, Sling, and YouTube that offer Fox as part of their packages.
When Is Super Bowl LIX?
Super Bowl LIX will take place on February 9, 2025, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 PM Eastern.
This will be the 11th Super Bowl played in New Orleans — and the 8th at the Superdome.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar will be the halftime musical performer.

There are two ways to purchase Super Bowl tickets right now.
