St. John’s and Marquette face off tonight in a battle of the Big East’s top heavyweights.
The 19-3 Johnnies hold a one-game lead over the 18-4 Golden Eagles, fueled by an eight-game winning streak.
The two teams are also neck and neck in the AP Top 25, with Marquette ranked 11th nationally, just ahead of No. 12 St. John’s. This is the highest ranking for the Red Storm since the 2000 season.
A Tight Race in the Big East
Meanwhile, Creighton is surging, riding a seven-game winning streak of its own and tied with Connecticut for third place. Both teams sit just 2.5 games behind St. John’s, which faces the Huskies on Friday night.
We’re just about a month away from the Big East tournament. The action is heating up, but the madness has yet to begin.
