The Golden State Warriors look to take a commanding 3–1 series lead over the Houston Rockets tonight, building on the momentum they seized in Game 3.
The Warriors crossed a critical psychological threshold with their 112–102 victory, having won without Jimmy Butler, who was out with a deep gluteal contusion.
Now, with Butler set to play in Game 4, the Warriors get an additional boost and someone to share the burden with Stephen Curry.
Curry was electric in Game 3, scoring 36 points on 12-of-23 shooting, including 6-of-12 from beyond the arc. Through the first three games of the series, Curry is averaging 30.3 points and 5.7 assists, leading a Warriors offense that has come alive when needed most.
But Houston remains dangerous. Jalen Green is averaging 23.7 points per game this series, and Alperen Şengün continues to showcase his all-around game, averaging 19.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists.
In their Game 2 win, the Rockets held the Warriors to just 41% shooting and just 28 points in the paint — a reminder of how quickly the momentum can shift.
With Butler back on the floor, Golden State’s defense and versatility improve significantly. While a comeback tonight in the Chase Center seems unlikely for Houston, the Rockets have the firepower to force a Game 6 if they can take Game 5 at home.
