The 2025 NBA Playoffs resume with Game 2 of the Finals on Sunday, June 8, as the Indiana Pacers look to extend their surprising 1–0 series lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Indiana’s run to the Finals has been nothing short of remarkable — an underdog story defined by clutch moments at every turn, with Tyrese Haliburton shocking.
Here’s how we got here and what to expect tonight.
Updated 2025 NBA Playoff Bracket
The Pacers’ path to the NBA Finals and a 1-0 series lead over the Thunder has been paved by Haliburton buzzer-beaters and upsets in every round.
A layup in Game 5 of Round 1 to take the series from the Milwaukee Bucks. A Game 2 Eastern Conference Semifinals second-chance step-back three to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. And a Game 1 deep two to force overtime at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks.

NBA Finals Game 1 Recap
Pacers 111, Thunder 110
It was the same script in Game 1 of the Finals.
Oklahoma City controlled much of the game, building a 15-point lead and going into the fourth quarter up 92–83.
But Indiana tightened up, cutting turnovers from 19 in the first half to just five after halftime. Their defensive effort and disciplined play allowed them to close the gap.
Down nine with three minutes left, the Pacers stormed back to beat the Thunder, making history — their fifth win in this postseason from late deficits of 9+ points.
Haliburton gave Indiana its first lead of the game, sinking a 21-foot pull-up jumper with 0.3 seconds left.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led with 38 points (14‑24 FG) yet missed a late-game opportunity to seal the win. The Thunder’s dominance for most of the game masked their subpar play — they were held to 39.8% from the field and 36.7% from three.
Indiana shot a scorching 47.6% overall and 46.2% from deep. They dominated the glass, 56–39, including 14 offensive rebounds. Six Pacers scored in double figures: Siakam (19, 10 rebounds), Haliburton (14, 10, 6), Toppin (17), Turner (15), Nesmith (12), and others stepping up in the win.
Indiana’s plethora of scoring options is what makes them so dangerous.
Sunday, June 8 – NBA Finals Game 2 Preview
Indiana Pacers at Oklahoma City Thunder
Pacers lead 1–0
The Thunder are once again the favorites to win tonight, but no lead is safe against the Pacers. Oklahoma City will have to shore up its shooting — a monster effort by SGA won’t be enough.
After a strong Western Conference Semifinals, Jalen Williams struggled in Game 1 of the Finals. He and the rest of the Thunder supporting cast will have to improve their shooting efficiency and maintain the type of ball pressure we saw in the first half of the Finals opener.
One thing’s for sure: Indiana will continue to push the ball upcourt with a frenetic pace. Will that wear OKC down by the fourth? We’ll see — but to stay close, Indiana will have to keep its turnovers in check. That may be the difference-maker tonight.
Expect the Thunder to make necessary adjustments as they’ve done throughout the playoffs and prevail tonight with a single-digit margin win.
Game Prediction: Thunder by eight.
Series Prediction: Thunder in six.
