The day begins with Daniil Medvedev (8) opening play against Yibing Wu (Q), followed by a battle between two fan favorites, Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu, in the early afternoon.
Next, Ben Shelton meets Gabriel Diallo (15), and Frances Tiafoe (6) faces Flavio Cobolli (9).
Below, we highlight the top matches to watch and include the full Thursday schedule.
Spotlight Matches
Venus Williams (WC) vs. Magdalena Frech (5)
Stadium Court, not before 7:30 PM Eastern
Williams, 45, rides momentum from her straight-sets win over Peyton Stearns and doubles appearance this week. She’ll need to keep points short with her serve and volley game to counter Frech, a grinder ranked No. 5, who thrives in long rallies.
Ben Shelton (4) vs. Gabriel Diallo (15)
Stadium Court, not before 3:30 PM Eastern
Shelton brings one of the biggest lefty serves on tour and is fresh off a confident win Tuesday. Diallo, a rising Canadian with a powerful game, will aim to match Shelton’s pace in their first meeting.
Frances Tiafoe (6) vs. Flavio Cobolli (9)
Stadium Court, not before 6:00 PM Eastern
Local favorite Tiafoe, buoyed by his D.C. fan base, meets the aggressive Italian Cobolli. Expect shotmaking and energy in this primetime slot.
Naomi Osaka (WC) vs. Emma Raducanu
Stadium Court, not before 1:00 PM Eastern
Two former U.S. Open champions face off in a midday showcase. Osaka’s heavy hitting and Raducanu’s counterpunching could make this one of the day’s most competitive matches.
Taylor Fritz (1) vs. Matteo Arnaldi
John Harris Court, not before 6:00 PM Eastern
Fritz, the tournament’s top seed, looks to continue his run after advancing Wednesday. Arnaldi’s mix of spin and pace could make it tricky, but Fritz’s serve should dictate.
