Paige Bueckers will hit the hardwood in New York City for the first time as a pro on Tuesday night, when the Dallas Wings visit the New York Liberty at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Bueckers, a top contender for this year’s WNBA Rookie of the Year, isn’t a stranger to the arena. During her UConn days, she played at Barclays in showcase games like the Women’s Champions Classic and was a fixture in women’s basketball in the Northeast, lighting up crowds just a few hours from Brooklyn.
Now, she returns to the tri-state area to face the Liberty on their home floor. And while the 8-21 Wings aren’t much to talk about, Bueckers’ return has generated buzz among Huskies fans, of which there are many in New York City.
The Wings played to their second-largest regular-season crowd at home on Saturday, with 17,857 in attendance to watch them play against the Caitlin Clark-less Indiana Fever.
Bueckers led the way with 22 points — her twelfth 20-point game of the season. She’s currently averaging 18.5 points per game, with 5.5 assists and 1.8 steals. All eyes are on Bueckers now as she leads her struggling wings against one of the league’s best teams.

If you want the best view in the house, there are a handful of courtside seats left — but they’re selling out.
