The Boston Celtics are on the road tonight, taking on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
The 8:30 PM Eastern tip-off is one typically seen in the playoffs — and this could be an NBA Eastern Conference finals preview.
The 34-17 Knicks sit third in the Eastern Conference, just 1.5 games behind the second-place Celtics — not quite the scenario most expected after Boston’s 132-109 blowout of New York in the season opener.
These February Knicks are a different team. The new core of Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson, and Josh Hart has since gelled together.
However, they still struggle to defend the three and pick-and-rolls, both of which devastated them in the opening night loss to the Celtics.
Injury Report
The Knicks will not only be without OG Anunoby tonight, who continues to deal with a toe injury. Towns is listed as questionable due to issues with his right knee.
Celtics guard Jrue Holiday is out with a right shoulder injury.
How to Watch the Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks
There is, however, good news for New Yorkers. Tonight’s game will be broadcast on ABC.
So that means customers of Optimum TV, the regional cable provider that’s blacked out MSG, which broadcasts Knicks games, can watch the game without having to buy a separate streaming subscription.
