The New York Knicks are on the road tonight taking on the East-leading Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
Both teams are playoff-bound and with just a few dozen games left in the season, they are virtual locks for NBA Eastern Conference 1st and 3rd seeds, respectively.
Tonight’s game, however, is a potential preview of an Eastern Conference final — and both teams will have that possible rematch in mind when they play tonight.
As for previous matches, the Cavs won their first and only game this season, prevailing over the Knicks 110 to 104 on October 28.
The Knicks actually by as much as 13 into the third quarter, but Darius Garland led the Cavs comeback with a 34-point effort. Garland’s defense also played a key role in the Cleveland win, blocking a Jalen Brunson shot with 1:13 left that would have brought New York to within three.
Turnovers ended up making the difference in the game’s final stretch.
Injury Report
OG Anunoby will be playing for the Knicks tonight. But Josh Hart, Kevin McCullar Jr., Mitchell Robinson, and Jacob Toppin are listed as out.
Dean Wade is out for the Cavaliers.
How to Watch the Knicks vs. Cavaliers
The Knicks-Cavaliers game airs nationally on ESPN. So for Knicks fans who also have the misfortune of being Optimum TV customers, this is a rare opportunity to watch without having to figure out how to get around this year’s blackout of MSG.
