The NFL’s newest alternative cast will bring the worlds of live-action football and video games together unlike ever before.
Later this month, NBC Sports and Peacock will collaborate with EA Sports and the NFL to produce a Madden-powered alternative broadcast for the Week 16 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans.
The Chiefs-Texans Madden NFL alternative cast will stream exclusively on Peacock on December 21 at 1 PM ET.
But it’s not the only animated alternative cast the NFL has in store for fans this season.
Here’s What to Expect
The Chiefs-Texans alternative cast will showcase the live game broadcast with Madden NFL 25 graphics — including animated overlays of route trees, play cards, and player ratings.
It’ll look a lot like Madden NFL 25 — only that it’s a real game.
(Madden NFL 25 is available for half-off on Amazon as part of its extended Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals.)
The broadcast will integrate real-time data from the NFL’s Next Gen Stats and Genius Sports’ AI-powered Genius IQ — all delivered in the familiar Madden style.
Kelce and Mahomes, 99 Club Members, Lead Chiefs
The Chiefs-Texans matchup will feature 11 players that have a 90+ Madden rating, including two 99-rated players: the Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce.

Mahomes and Kelce are perennial members of the Madden “99 Club.” Kelce holds the tight-end record for most 99 Club appearances.
Leading the Texans are tackle Laremy Tunsil, rated 95, and running back Joe Mixon, rated 93.
The game between the AFC West leader Chiefs (11-1) and AFC South leader Texans (7-5) could be a preview of an AFC divisional round or championship game.
Also Coming Soon: A ‘Simpsons’ Cast
This season also marks the return of “Funday Football” — an animated alternative NFL broadcast.
Last year, “Funday Football” debuted with an alternative “Toy Story”-themed broadcast of the matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars. It was truly something else.
This season, “Funday Football” returns with a “Simpsons”-themed broadcast for the Week 14 Monday Night Football matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys.
The “Simpsons” alternative cast will be available on subscription streaming channels, ESPN+, Disney+, and the mobile edition of NFL+.
