Texas has the home-field advantage in tonight’s Cotton Bowl game against Ohio State, but the weather outside won’t feel like home. Temperatures will fall below freezing at night.
Inside the climate-controlled AT&T Stadium, however, it’ll be the same temperature it always is: just 70 degrees.
What to Watch Out For
Speaking of control, Ohio State comes into tonight’s game with great momentum and will seek to maintain it throughout the matchup.
The Buckeyes boast one of college football’s top defenses overall. But Texas has one of the strongest secondary defenses in the country.
Look out for the Longhorns’ defensive back Jahdae Barron to keep pressure on the Buckeyes’ star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. This could be one of the most decisive matchups in the game.
Ohio State quarterback Will Howard has struggled against Texas in the past, losing to them in all three matchups while playing for Kansas State. This includes an overtime loss last year in which he went 26-for-41, throwing for 327 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.
For Texas, quarterback Quinn Ewers will take the snaps, but a big question on the minds of many will, of course, be: Will Arch Manning get to play?
Keep an eye on offensive tackles Kelvin Banks Jr. of Texas and Josh Simmons of Ohio State — both projected as first-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.
