The season is all but over for the Chicago Bears, but the Seattle Seahawks still have a playoff spot to fight for as the two NFC teams face off in tonight’s Thursday Night Football game.
Seattle Seahawks Playoff Odds
If the season ended today, the 8-7 Seahawks would not be playoff-bound. But they still have several narrow pathways to making to the playoffs.
One such route includes wins tonight against the Bears and next week against the NFC West leading 9-6 Los Angeles Rams. Even that pathway is complicated: should the Rams win on Saturday against the Arizona Cardinals, a tie between L.A. and Seattle would be determined by strength of victory. And that determination would be based on how Seattle’s previous opponents fare in their own Week 17 and 18 matchups.
Simply put, it’s all up in the air, and the biggest favor quarterback Geno Smith and the Seahawks can do themselves is pull out a win tonight against the Bears.
