Billy Joel has canceled all remaining scheduled concerts, including shows planned through mid-2026, after being diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), a neurological disorder that has impacted his balance, vision, and hearing.
The 76-year-old singer is now undergoing physical therapy and has been advised by doctors to refrain from performing indefinitely.
The announcement comes after Joel initially postponed his spring and summer tour dates back in March 2025, citing the need to recover from a recent surgery. At the time, he had expressed hope to resume touring by July, with shows scheduled across North America and Europe.
“I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding,” Joel said in a statement.
What Is Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus?
NPH is a condition that causes a buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain’s ventricles.
It can lead to serious issues with walking, cognitive function, and sensory perception, particularly in older adults.
Ticket Refund Information
Fans who purchased tickets do not need to take any action. Refunds will be automatically issued to the original form of payment. If tickets were transferred, the refund will go to the original purchaser.
