Carlos Alcaraz, the defending French Open champion and world No. 2, faces No. 8 seed Lorenzo Musetti in today’s semifinal at Roland Garros.
Alcaraz aims to reach his first Grand Slam final of 2025, after losing to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open quarterfinals. Meanwhile, Musetti seeks his first major final appearance.
Alcaraz is the overwhelming favorite today. He’s been dominant on clay this season, boasting a 20–1 record and titles in Monte Carlo and Rome. And he’s dropped only three sets en route to the semifinals, including a straight-sets victory over Tommy Paul in the quarterfinals. Alcaraz leads the head-to-head against Musetti 6–1, with four wins on clay.
Musetti, an Olympic bronze medalist on clay, has had a strong clay season with a 14–3 record. He reached the semifinals by defeating Frances Tiafoe in four sets. This is Musetti’s first French Open semifinal and his second Grand Slam semifinal overall.
