The Indiana Fever continue their East Coast road trip on Wednesday night as they take on the New York Liberty at Barclays Center.
But they’ll be without Caitlin Clark, who has been ruled out with a groin injury following Tuesday night’s win in Boston over the Connecticut Sun.
It’s a major blow for the Fever, who are 12–10 and have won their last three games. The Liberty, meanwhile, come in at 14–6, sitting atop the Eastern Conference standings and second place overall, behind the Minnesota Lynx, led by Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu.
This is the final game for both teams before the All-Star break.
Caitlin Clark Status: Ruled Out with Groin Injury
The Fever announced earlier today that Clark will not play due to a right groin strain sustained in the final minutes of Tuesday’s win over the Sun. It’s her 11th missed game this season, and the team is opting for caution with the All-Star break just days away.

Season Series, Key Matchups, and Prediction
This is the third regular-season meeting between Indiana and New York, with the series tied 1–1. The Liberty edged out a 90–88 win in May, while the Fever responded with a dominant 102–88 victory in June — a game in which Clark scored 32 points. The two teams run it back next week at Barclays.
With Clark out tonight, Indiana will turn to Aari McDonald to run the offense, while Kelsey Mitchell — the Fever’s lead scorer — will lead the attack as Aliyah Boston anchors the frontcourt against a physical Liberty squad.
The key battle will take place in the paint, where Boston faces off against Liberty star Stewart. Ionescu’s outside shooting and playmaking will also test Indiana’s perimeter defense.
The Fever have shown they can hang with the Liberty, but Clark’s absence shifts the balance. Expect New York’s depth and offensive firepower to carry them to a win at home.
Final Score Prediction: Liberty 89, Fever 78
