(1) Houston faces (8) Gonzaga in a marquee second-round matchup — pitting one of the nation’s best defenses against one of its most efficient offenses.
While Gonzaga can score, this should be a comfortable — though not lopsided — win for the Cougars. Houston’s defense is just that good.
The Zags are led by efficient scorers Graham Ike and Khalif Battle, who dropped 24 points in their first-round win over Georgia. But Houston’s ability to pressure the ball and control the tempo could be too much for Gonzaga to overcome.
Expect junior Milos Uzan to shine again for Houston, as he has throughout tournament play. Senior guard L.J. Cryer will also be a key contributor as the Cougars look to punch their ticket to the Sweet 16.
