Xavier and Texas complete tonight in the second of today’s First Final March Madness games at UD Arena in Dayton.
The winner will head to Milwaukee to play on Friday against Illinois, the sixth seed in the Midwest Region.
Watch out for Longhorns freshman Tre Johnson, a projected lottery pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Though Xavier has the edge in this matchup, if Johnson lights it up — and he can — the advantage then goes to Texas.
The Xavier backcourt also has some explosive talent. Junior Ryan Conwell is coming off a 38-point performance in last week’s Big East Tournament loss to Marquette. He’s scored 20 points or more in his past five games, stepping it up when it matters most. He may come up big again tonight.
