The New York Liberty (24–17) visit the Seattle Storm (22–20) tonight at Climate Pledge Arena as both teams look to take care of business in the final week of the WNBA regular season.
The Liberty have already clinched a playoff spot but are looking to secure home-court advantage with wins in their final three games. They also have plenty to work on before the postseason tips off.
New York has dropped back-to-back games against playoff-bound opponents — the Phoenix Mercury and Golden State Valkyries — while struggling to generate offense.
Over those two losses, they averaged just 60.5 points, underscoring how much they miss sharpshooter Sabrina Ionescu, whose return is crucial for their playoff run. It’s hard to believe that this is the same team that averaged 88.4 points per game in July.
Seattle, meanwhile, has hit its stride at the right time. The Storm opened August with a six-game losing streak that pushed them below .500. They’ve since won six of their last nine games, climbing into playoff contention behind strong late-season play.
The duo of Nneka Ogwumike (18.3 PPG) and Skylar Diggins (15.7 PPG) makes Seattle a dangerous matchup, supported by double-digit scoring from Gabby Williams, Brittney Sykes, and Erica Wheeler.
Ogwumike has been a steady presence all year, while rookie Dominique Malonga continues to make strides, including three 20-point outings in August.

Look for Seattle to capitalize on New York’s fragility and clinch a crucial win tonight.
