The Indiana Pacers take on the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series, looking to repeat their stunning victory over the East’s top seed in Game 1 on Sunday.
The Pacers, like the New York Knicks last night, flipped the script on their higher-seeded, sharp-shooting opponent, containing the Cavs from downtown while a fair share of their own shots from behind the arc.
Indiana made 19 of 36 three-point attempts (52.8%), while Cleveland struggled from beyond the arc, making just 9 of 38 (23.7%).
Donovan Mitchell led Cleveland with 33 points, but was 1 of 11 from three. Evan Mobley contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The Cavaliers suffered from the absence of Darius Garland, who sat out with a sprained left big toe. But tonight they will be without not just Garland, but also Mobley and De’Andre Hunter.
Without Garland and Mobley, the Cavs are headed for another loss. If they remain out for this series, the semifinals will go to Indiana.
