The Las Vegas Aces look to extend their franchise-best 14-game winning streak tonight as they face the Chicago Sky again.
On Sunday, the Aces pulled off a dominant 14-point victory over Chicago, which was without Angel Reese. Reese was suspended for the first half and then sat out the second with back issues. Her status for tonight remains uncertain.
A’ja Wilson powered the win with 31 points and 11 rebounds, breaking the WNBA record for most 30-point games in a single season. She’s averaging 23.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.2 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game, keeping her firmly in the MVP race.
But for Wilson and the Aces, playoff positioning is the priority. They’re locked in a tight battle with the Atlanta Dream for the No. 2 seed, and could slip to fourth if they lose their last two and the Phoenix Mercury win their final two games. That, however, is unlikely given that Las Vegas is playing Chicago tonight.
The Aces enter the final stretch of the regular season with the best possible momentum. And they got another boost this week with the return of Cheyenne Parker-Tyus, who activated after maternity leave.
Prediction
With their depth and momentum, the Aces should have little trouble overpowering a depleted and distracted Sky squad.
Predicted Final Score: Las Vegas Aces 89, Chicago Sky 72
