Venus Williams, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, and Emma Raducanu headline a star-studded lineup in this week’s newly reimagined U.S. Open mixed doubles event.
For the first time, the U.S. Open is turning mixed doubles into a headline act during Fan Week, just days before the main singles draw begins on August 24.
The special two-day showcase kicks off on Tuesday, August 19, and wraps up on Wednesday, August 20, making it a high-energy, fan-focused lead-in to the tournament’s traditional start.
Fan Week has become an increasingly important part of the U.S. Open calendar, offering free access to practices, exhibitions, and qualifying rounds.
With just 16 teams, short-set scoring, and some of the game’s biggest names, the event promises quick-fire matches and major crowd appeal. Day 1 matches will be split across Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong Stadiums.
We’ve got the order of play for Day 1 listed below — and a full guide to Fan Week here.
Star Power on Full Display: Venus, Alcaraz, Sinner, and Djokovic Lead the Field
The U.S. Open mixed doubles showcase is stacked with elite talent and current tour momentum, featuring stars from across generations and formats.
Leading the way is Venus Williams, the two-time U.S. Open singles champion, who returns for her 24th main draw appearance and joins fellow American Reilly Opelka for a high-profile mixed doubles pairing.
At 45, Venus remains one of the sport’s most celebrated figures, and her presence adds both gravitas and nostalgia to this week’s event.
Today’s Cincinnati Open finalists, Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, are both in action this week at the U.S. Open mixed doubles event. Alcaraz, the 2022 U.S. Open champion, teams up with fellow Grand Slam winner Raducanu in one of the tournament’s most anticipated wild-card pairings.
Sinner, meanwhile, partners with Katerina Siniaková in a duo that blends elite singles and doubles skill. Their participation brings not only star power but fresh competitive momentum heading into the main draw.
Rounding out the field are other high-profile duos.
American standout Ben Shelton joins forces with doubles specialist Taylor Townsend.
Madison Keys teams up with Frances Tiafoe in a crowd-pleasing pairing.
And four-time major winner Naomi Osaka partners with the always-entertaining Gaël Monfils.
Together, these players make the mixed doubles bracket one of the most exciting events of U.S. Open Fan Week.
A Fan-Friendly Format, Fast and Exciting
The U.S. Open mixed doubles event will unfold over just two days, with fast-paced matches played using short sets, no-ad scoring, and tiebreaks at 4–4.
The format is designed for energy and excitement, giving fans quick access to top-tier action across multiple matches.
Adding to the spectacle is a record-setting $1 million prize for the champions, with $400,000 for runners-up and $20,000 even for first-round teams.
