The Golden State Warriors look to take a commanding 2–0 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight in Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals
And they’ll have to do it without Stephen Curry, who is out at least until next week with a hamstring injury.
The Warriors won Game 1 despite Curry’s exit in the second quarter. And they look to repeat the same feat tonight. Buddy Hield stepped up with 24 points, and Jimmy Butler added 20. Even Draymond Green put up 18 points.
The Warriors’ defense and experience proved decisive against the young Timberwolves, who struggled offensively. Anthony Edwards managed only one point in the first half and finished with a subpar shooting performance.
Expect the Timberwolves to bounce back tonight and win Game 2 at home. The semifinals series will head to San Francisco for Games 3 and 4, and the fate of the matchup may hinge on whether Curry is able to return.
If he can make it back for Game 4 on Monday, this series could become a far more competitive battle. But the Timberwolves are a deeper team and have what it takes to take the series.
Series Prediction: Timberwolves in seven.
