President Joe Biden called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu an “f-cking liar,” according to a new book by investigative journalist Bob Woodward. Biden not only described the Israeli leader as a prevaricator, but he said he is surrounded by them.
The president said that Netanyahu is a “liar” surrounded by “liars,” claiming that eighteen out of the nineteen people who work for him are deceitful.
Biden was angered by Netanyahu’s move into Gaza’s Rafah area in May in defiance of U.S. warnings. The Biden administration said an invasion of the area was a “red line.” Despite the nearly $20 billion in U.S. assistance allocated for Israel since last year, Netanyahu went ahead with the operation. Publicly, Washington has underplayed Israel’s invasion of the area, refusing to describe it as a “major ground operation.”
But privately, Biden has been seething. According to Woodward, he’s called the Israeli prime minister a “son of a bit-h” and a “bad f-cking guy.” Israel has since expanded its war into Lebanon and has conducted high-profile air strikes in Iran and Syria. The Middle East nears closer to a much wider war potentially involving Iran and the United States.
Kamala Harris’s Double Game on Gaza
Woodward also reports that while Vice President Kamala Harris’s modest public displays of sympathy with Palestinians infuriated Netanyahu, other Israeli officials have more nuanced views of Harris.
Michael Herzog, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, said that the vice president’s public utterances were at odds with her private conversations with Israeli officials. Herzog said, “She wants to be tough in public. But she wasn’t as tough privately.”
The Trump-Putin Bromance Continues
These are not the only bombshell claims revealed by Woodward, whose new book, “War,” comes out next week — less than a month ahead of Election Day.

Woodward also writes that former President Donald Trump has remained in contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin after leaving office. The two men, according to Woodward, have spoken seven times via telephone.
Trump also secretly sent Putin COVID tests at the height of the pandemic in 2020 when they were in short supply. The Russian president, Woodward reports, asked Trump to not inform anyone of the delivery.
The Trump Campaign Responds
Steven Cheung, the Trump campaign communications director, says, “None of these made-up stories by Bob Woodward are true.” He claimed that the two-time Pulitzer Prize winner “suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
